Phillies now have a six-man bench by activating Travis Jankowski and demoting Damon Jones. But Didi Gregorius, a .156/.272/.273 hitter against lefties, is in the lineup vs. a lefty. No other options, it appears.

I think he still has some, I won't say value, but utility. He could be an overpaid bench player or the Phillies could pick up half his salary and put him on a team that might hope to flip him at the deadline if he bounces back. If you throw in a prospect you at least get some lottery tickets or spare parts (reliever, possible 6th starter) back. The problem is the Phillies don't like to eat $ and the extremely influential manager still wants him on the team.
