Is there one? Was hoping to follow while I'm at work.
Well we are down 2-0 after a good play but missed throw by Kingery to first and a mammoth HR on an 0-2 mistake by Nola.
0-5 in Nola’s last 5 starts entering today. We go 3-2 and we are tied in the wild card. Some of this is due to the offense in those games but it is definitely not Ace like. I continue to think that having him go every 5 days is a mistake.
Harper bunting, Rhys watching 3rd strikes down the middle of the plate. Look awful today.
Another watched third strike by Miller. I think Atlanta’s two runs are going to hold up.
I am starting to wonder if the lack of run support--in addition to the breakneck pace of his starts--is starting to wear him down. He probably thinks he has to go out and pitch a shutout since they'll likely only score one or two runs for him which is putting more pressure on him mentally and physically.
I agree with everything you just said. The problem is that aces thrive on that pressure and Aaron hasn’t.
Nola puts the Braves down in order in the 4th: Fly out, ground out, strike out.
After a line out by Segura - Kingery triples on misplay by Acuna and Hasley drives an RBI double off the right field wall.
Phillies score a run on a Kingery triple (that should have been a single, but Acuna dove and missed it) and a Haseley RBI double.
The inning still ongoing as Nola singles!
Nola singles. 1st and 3rd with one out. Need to at least tie this up.
Cesar comes through with an RBI groundout to 1B and we are tied up.
No quit in these guys. Encouraging
And Nola immediately comes out and gives up a single and walk.
Again Nola has not been an ACE late in the season. Absolutely pathetic
4-2 Braves
Hernandez mishandling a DP ball did Nola no favors this inning. With first base open and runners at second and third, we opt to pitch to Freeman who lines the first pitch to RF for a two run single. Phillies down 4-2.
Two runs in on single by Freeman. Previous play was grounder to Hernandez. Seemed to have trouble getting ball out of his glove. Didn’t go to second and barely got runner at first. Should have only been one run that inning if any.
I might have walked Freeman. Dangerous in a close game but no Donaldson in the lineup (at least early).
I was thinking they might walk Freeman in that situation.
Harper leads off with a double past third base. Hoskins follows with a dismal at bat stimung out on ball
Harper to third on ground out by Miller; scores on infield hit by Segura.
