And yet Brad Miller has a higher OPS than three regulars in today's line-up (all of whom are better at defense, granted). He's also got an .827 OPS this year against right-handed pitching and an .858 OPS in his 27 starts (which have presumably mostly been against right-handed pitching).
It might indeed be more fun, just like it's fun to watch position players pitch, but he's not actually a better hitter. It stinks that Bruce and Dickerson are not available so the only other way to do it would be to play Kingery in CF, Haseley in LF and Miller at 3B. This is the better defensive alignment I suppose (in that Miller is less of a liability in LF than at 3B and Haseley is the better CF).
