With the Cubs loss we really gotta have this one. Already awful they can't win this series and no reason to think the road trip will be better. The truth is that while they got tantalizingly close to that wild card spot just last week, they have now completed the soft part of their schedule without taking advantage of it. Even if they actually can continue to play .500 ball against good teams it won't be enough.

Really doesn't seem all that different from the usual we have seen so often this year. The 3 reliver inning is not an uncommon sight.

I am looking forward to that pitch to 3 hitters or end the inning rule next season. Also, the limit to September call ups will not make nearly as big a change from the expanded rosters.

Yes, walking might not have been the best thing for Neris. Being on a professional baseball team would, I would think, give pitchers the opportunity to get some hitting practice. I'd have liked to see Neris swing at the 3-1 pitch, which seemed to be a good pitch to hit.
