Half game behind the Mets as they come in for the 3 game series.

Save for Bradley. Did give up a run but got a bad break on the ball that hit second base and changed direction.

Great come from behind win for the Phillies. Had chances a couple times and didn't get the runs but in the top of the ninth, they got the key hits. Not letting the Nationals come back to tie or win in the 9th is huge.

Sadly, the start by Nola was not good today, but the hitters saved him from the loss.

Was wondering why Girardi chose Bradley over Kennedy in the ninth. He said Bradley was warming when the #Phillies tied the game, and they decided to stick with him after taking the lead rather than getting both Bradley and Kennedy hot and only using one.

Its Alumni/Wall of Fame weekend which usually draws 30K+ even when the Phils are doing bad.. so will be interesting.. Im betting the delta variant worries will prevent some people from coming.. so I dont expect a sell out.. but I bet 35K a game.

It seems to me that the team is now operating the way it was designed with an offense that can just club teams to death. Harper, Realmuto, Hoskins, Segua are all functioning at a very high rate.

Suffice it to say, there will be a lot of Mets fans there. For Mets fans in New Jersey who live south or west of I-287, CBP is their homefield, easier to get to than CitiField. Many of them can count on one hand the number of times they've ever seen the Mets play at Shea or Citi combined. But, they make multiple trips to Philadelphia each season whenever the Mets play there.

Nola is concerning, his command seems to be off, especially of his 2 seamer, which used to be his bread and butter pitch, throwing it off the plate, breaking over the edge to RH, and inside breaking over the plate to LH.

The velocity is still there, but you wonder if this is a mechanical or arm (overthrowing to maintain velo) issue.

People at the restaurant cheered when Realmuto doubled. They cheered louder when Hoskins singled. First time I’ve heard a group in a casual spot react like that to this team in a long time.
