I’m guessing and hoping that this is just a routine day off for Segura.

Just a day off for Jean Segura, according to Joe Girardi, after five games in a row to help him manage some knee soreness. https://t.co/2rf9vjCZqP

MIguel Rojas walks with one out in the bottom of the 8th down in Miami.

Hot dog Jazz Chizolm, Jr. bats for Miami.

Segura should get a day off every week or two.

I think we also want to know as much as we can about where Didi and Bohm are for when Freddy is back. They are the ones most likely to lose some playing time at that point (noting that Didi is already reduced to just starting against RHP).

Base hit for Chisolm! Runners on first and second with one out for the Marlins.

Our old friend Jorge Alfaro bats.

Base hit, Alfaro! Rojas scores, Chisolm to third. Marlins lead 2-1.

Lewis Brinson now bats for Miami.

Double for Brinson, Chisolm & Alfaro score! 4-1 Marlins!

This week has felt like September 2007!

Pitching change for the Mets, Familia out Y. Diaz in. Will face Brian Anderson.

In 2007 there was that amazing late series with the Mets in late August, four-game sweep at home that took us from 6 GB to 2GB. But we were back to 6.5 before a three-game sweep in Queens in mid-September.

I was thinking along the lines of the last two weeks of that month when the Phillies kept winning and the Mets kept faltering.

Panik pops out to third to end the inning. We go to the ninth with the Marlins leading 4-1. Alonso, Smith and Davis due up for New York.

Anthony Bender in to try to save it for the Marlins.
