Rain delay. How’s it looking in Philly?
it was some hard rain on the TV, no idea if it's supposed to pass, or what the exact rule is for calling the game now.
Good outing by Eflin. I do like his progression as a pitcher. This is not just his use of the 2-seamer more this year. It is better use of his breaking ball and better pitch locations. We saw with the home run that his sinker is still very hittable in the zone. He has been working through that more early in the season by working the corners and avoiding the big inning. The K rate has finally increased which he has been capable of all the time.
He had to become a little less pitch efficient to become a better pitcher.
As for the rain, it looks like the worst is past but there might be another 10-20 of light rain. Could see them starting around 4:15-4:30 and having a good chance to finish. Without a day game tomorrow they probably have plenty of time to wait it out (though I have some doubts that Fox will come back to the game of course outside of Philly and Atlanta).
