Well, the bench math is moot as of Sunday. We get Bruce back as a PH then, and probably Franco too. Maybe Williams. Certainly a third catcher. Only remaining question is if Quinn will contribute at some point. Initiallly I think Dickerson didn't lead off consistently because he wasn't playing every day but that ended pretty quick.

SSS but Segura's done really well batting 5th. At the same time he's not as good as Realmuto so batting JT 2nd gets a better hitter more ABs.

Routine might be good, I don't disagree. But it's kind of chicken/egg. If things had been going well, routines would not have been disrupted. When they aren't, you start to try new things. There's certainly something to be said for being confident in an approach and sticking with it though Philly doesn't have much patience for that.

Good to see the offense scoring runs and the pitching was certainly good enough with the runs the Phillies scored. A win for Velasquez and Davis and Garcia get to go two innings each and do the job. Saves some stress on the other relievers, who might be needed this coming weekend.

Phillies win the series and that is always good. Hope we can take the series with the Mets this weekend.

We gotta sweep the Mets, though we probably won't. But we can't expect better than .500 in Cincinnati given our road record and then it's on to Queens. Either way we're gonna need help from whomever the Cubs are playing.

I mean, we'll never know that. For all we know the analytics department and Klentak help set the line-up. That's just how it works these days.

But his first game leading off, IIRC, was also either the day Mallee got fired or Charlie's first day, can't remember which.

(The other interesting thing is supposedly Hoskins loved Mallee and his approach. But that level of data/research obviously wasn't working for him lately.)
