Turner
In play, run(s) (95.2 mph four-seam fastball)
Trea Turner singles on a fly ball to left fielder Rhys Hoskins. Wilmer Difo scores. Stephen Strasburg to 3rd. Adam Eaton to 2nd.
Washington Nationals 4 - Philadelphia Phillies 2
And another one. This team in absolutely unbarable to watch.
Lack of fundamentals and poor defense are killing this team!
Looked like a routine fly to left but Hoskins didn't come in and catch it. Did he not see it????
Harper
Swinging strike (95.0 mph four-seam fastball)Ball (88.5 mph changeup)In play, out(s) (96.3 mph four-seam fastball)
Bryce Harper flies out to left fielder Rhys Hoskins.
Washington Nationals
Philadelphia Phillies
Backed up on the ball at first.
I stand by what I said last week. Kapler needs to hold these guys accountable when they botch easy plays. Thereās no excuse for airmailing the catcher on a squeeze play.
That was just awful.
First, Eflin walks two to load bases with one out.
Then the failure to make routine plays gives the Nationals two runs.
It the Phillies don't come back to win this game, they all should hang their heads in shame.
What does it mean to hold someone accountable? Say something in the press? Make Eflin skip a start? We don't know what really gets said and done in the clubhouse.
Hoskins is just never gonna have any instincts for LF (assuming he doesn't stay there for more than two seasons). Muscle memory and visual instincts take time.
Iām fine with Eflin and Cabrera hanging their heads in shame. The other guys havenāt been that bad.

Maikel Franco pops out to first baseman Ryan Zimmerman in foul territory.
Iād be okay with players getting pulled. Eflinās likely to be lifted anyway.
Hoskins gets a partial pass from me because heās doing so many things (apparently) for the good of the team. He should be playing first base and hitting farther down in the order. As heās done as heās been asked without complaint, Iām willing to overlook some of his mistakes. The Phillies drafted and developed him and should have realized heās not an outfielder.
