Should have said "hot start to his career", my point was he seems to be fixing the problems that plagued him last year, while he's probably never going to hit like the future HOF player he looked like his first 600 PA or so, with his plate discipline if he just continues to improve he can be a consistent .900 OPS guy.
I think the key to Hoskins is similar to Howard a few years ago, when they use the whole field they're first rate hitters, when they fall into pulling outside breaking balls (usually as ground balls into the shift) that's all they'll ever see. Howard admitted he slipped when he stopped trying to drive balls to left CF, that is, don't try and pull outside pitches (note this isn't the same as taking it the opposite way, rather, using that target to discipline yourself from over-pulling and pulling off the ball).
Bohm just looks like a pure hitter, he has no issue taking a pitch to the opposite field.
