No way Hunter could have pitched two full innings. It's great that he can occasionally get you four outs occasionally (and he did get five once) but he's still an older, fragile guy compared to two years ago. Sitting for a half-inning is tough too.

Well I certainly was worried for no reason. Workman seemed to finally get going with runners on the corners and one out. Maybe Workman can get back to the form that dominated last season. I sure was sweating through that bottom of the ninth.

Phillies win with 3 runs on 12 hits. Win to Nola to make him 3-2 on the year. Nola goes 7 innings and brings his ERA to an even 3.00. Hunter with a strong 8th inning and brings his season ERA under 4 at 3.97. Save for Workman with an adventurous but successful 9th.

Home run by Hoskins. McCutchen with 3 hits and Gosselin and Gregorius two each. Didi with a big triple and scored the tying run in the 7th. Harper and Bohm each had a hit to drive in a run. Both end the game hitting .317

For Joe, his 1000th win as a ML manager.

Kudos to all for a hard fought victory.

Really had to get that win with Nola on the mound, especially as the Braves beat Gerrit Cole already today.

I believe it is the first game the team won this year when they didn't score at least 5 runs.

Nola was a little off but like all top pitchers, worked his way out of a couple situations and kept the game under control.
Hunter seems to be working his way back.
Workman has nasty stuff, but I was having "Wild Thing" flashbacks. Between him and Neris, 9th innings are going to be an adventure this year.

Bohm is a pure hitter, he needs to move up the lineup soon and Segura down.
Hoskins has quietly raised his OPS to .821, while his hot start is probably a fluke, it may be that so is last year's second half - if he can settle down in the .900 OPS range with average fielding, that's just fine.
