Velasquez wasn’t shelled, but he falls short of the quality start mark, which itself can be a very mediocre level. He gives up 3 runs on the two home runs and only goes 5 innings. Not good enough.

Of course, an offense like today will rarely win regardless of our pitching. I hope we can break out for a batch of runs.
