Philadelphia Phillies
Atlanta Braves
I hope Suárez has his command back for tonight's game.
This is the first lineup in quite a while in which Rojas has clearly the worst OPS. Happily, his OPS is bracketed by the two guys at the bottom of the Braves' lineup.
back after 2 weeks away. I couldn't post. Ranger as been scuffling a little. this Schwellenbach kid had been ok. first time starters, the Phils have trouble. they need Dahl and Clemens to come alive.gm
It appears that a rain delay is in the cards. Let's hope it is a short one.
Kinda weird that the opening/tease on Fox had more highlights of the Braves in it than the Phils. And Castellanos was the Phillie they decided to highlight!
Fox is playing LA vs. Milwaukee.
Now saying the opening pitch will be at 7:45.
Kind of freaked out for a second that the game wasn't on (though obviously it would have been on a different Fox channel or local TV if Dodgers was really the national game).
The Phillies needed their other big bats to step up when Harper and Schwarber went on the IL. Here’s what they’ve done over that span:Nick Castellanos- .414/.433/.586, 1 HRTrea Turner- .387/.387/.806, 4 HRAlec Bohm- .296/.333/.556, 2 HR— Joe Edinger ( @Joe_Edinger ) July 6, 2024

I dont think our catchers are getting enough credit. Over the last 7 days our catchers BOTH have an OPS over 1.000. And over 14 days Stubbs is at .838 and Marchan at .901.

Yea, they picked a very good time to get hot.
It would be nice if Stubbs can at least not be an automatic out. Clearly the pitchers and coaches love the guy.
Nice problem to have.
You could make the case for carrying both of them, if not immediately than with the extra roster spot (both in September and the shorter playoff series). Marchan is a switch-hitter and Stubbs is a LHB who can actually play the field (Marchan probably can too).
But yeah nice problem to have and a promising path for next year.

Is anyone else watching the game on MLBTV? I’m not in the fox viewing area so watching on MLBTV app. Sounds is so ahead on the video. Have tried pulling it up on multiple devices too and same issue on each one.
Same issue for me so far.
