For instance, if the Phillies have only won 23 games against teams with winning records one could still say that the vast majority of the Phillies' victories (38 of 61) have come against teams without winning records.

Of course they have ducked out of playing the team with the best winning record in baseball.

The number of teams with a winning record has also changed as much as the Phillies schedule, I reckon. Cards, Mets and Padres now all in that category and AZ at .500.
