Bryce on the bench today. Assume this is the plan to ease him back in. Not having Dahl means we get Merrifield in LF this time with Marsh in CF.
Well, I guess that's one way to prolong Merrifield's audition. They claimed part of his utility was that he could hit both RHP and LHP but that was only true when he could hit at all. I'd still rather see Pache (though I also wonder if this means Rojas needs a day off too).
RHP so Pache is still basically unplayable there. The choice is really defense (Rojas) vs offense (Merrifield supposedly). I do have to think they are giving Merrifield some extra run to help make a decision on him.
It is a strange lineup that has the lowest slugging hitting #4 (ignoring the last two that are just automatic outs)
I think Marsh must have been pressing when he was hitting 4th (593 OPS). Hitting 6th (803) and 7th (1029) is more his comfort zone. Lineup could use another LH bat with some power too even with Bryce back.
Stubbs is slugging .471 in his last six starts/14 days.

I had to laugh looking at the description of the first inning. Freddy lining out to SS. it was a jam shot and was mentioned that it was 55MPH. less than the speed limit was said. pretty funny.gm
