Good to see Knapp get the game winning walk off home run. If he can up his hitting a little, he might keep the back up catcher job. I like that he is a switch hitter. The home run was the first extra base hit by the Phillies today. Nats had one double. Phillies use 9 pitchers and all 4 bench players, a total of 21 players for the game. The 3 scoreless innings from Thompson were huge in keeping the Phillies in the game and in position to win.
Pivetta gets the win. Phillies take 3 of 4 from Washington and are now 4-3 on the home stand with two remaining vs. Baltimore. The Nationals won the one game by ten runs and the Phillies take the other three, each by one run. Good teams win close, one run games. Phillies are maturing and are becoming a good team. With some changes (FA or trade) by next season, I think they become solid contenders.
