I understand that argument as well. This inning worked because two guys at the bottom of the order who haven't gotten on base that often were able to do it. Of course, it 's not like the guys earlier in the order have very high OBPs...

Yeah I think Schwarber stabilizing the leadoff spot has actually been the main key to the offense under Thomson, it's just unfortunate there aren't more bats behind him (be they injured or slumping), in addition to even modest/consistent production ahead of him.
