Certainly an important win tonight. I was happy to see the lineup return to a more normal order. Phillies pound out 19 hits including 8 extra base hits. Every starter had at least one hit and Segura lead the way with 4. Big game for Franco. I don't see him as the future but it would sure help if he had a couple hot weeks. Pinch hit home run from Bruce, in his intended role as LH bat off the bench.
Eflin really struggled tonight and he was lucky that the Phillies offense showed up. The bullpen did okay. Hammer turned in scoreless 7th and 8th inning with only a walk, no hits. Can't say that Salas was impressive in the ninth (run on 3 hits, homer) but he had a big lead and got the game ended.
The double play saved a run and was an great play by Hernandez. He fielded the grounder and at first glance you think easy double play ball. But he was on the shortstop side of second and the shortstop was playing behind him in short left field, so Hernandez had to run to second just beating the runner and then throw off balance to first to just beat the batter to the bag. Hernandez took a pretty mean looking tumble falling over the runner coming into second.
