Error/hit on Schwaber is as bad as giving a sacrifice fly to a player when your team is trailing by 4 runs in your last at bat. Baseball sure has some hard to believe "automatic" scoring decisions.

Am absolutely little league effort from the whole team other than the pitchers.

There is really no reason for it, usually the home scorer does that to help a home hitter. Giving Schwarb the benefit of the doubt hardly necessary.

zSchwarber needs to sit out, he is horrible. Not even DH, just a high priced pinch hitter. I would trade him in a heart beat and bring up one of our young outfielders from the minors. They have to be better than Schwarber. JT and Turner would be next on my list of need to improve or go. JT is even losing his defensive skills

Unfortunately they are not. Schwarber's main problem is that he is a DH and the team doesn't have an open DH position.

Whether it is called a hit or an error, the Braves get 4 runs because Schwarber doesn’t make a play that has to be an out at this level.

Another great start, this one from Nola. Three scoreless innings from the bullpen. Tremendous pitching against a great offense. And yet another loss.

This series gives me hope for the rest of the season. This pitching is good. The offense cannot be as bad as it looks at times. Turner cannot be as bad as he has been so far this season. Surely, Schwarber can hit .200

It seems like most Phillie hitters swing at pitches out of the strike zone. Not occasionally, but regularly. Often a couple times in the same at bat. The strikeout where not a single pitch was a strike in not uncommon.

I’m looking to see how the team reacts to being beaten by the Braves. These loses are done. In the record book. Can they come back and win the series against the Mets? We will see.

I know the hitters are aware of their problems. I know they are not satisfied. They have to get better results!

Think of the bright side. If Schwarber makes that catch and the Phillies score 1 in their inning we would have had to watch Hoffman or Strahm in the 11th inning. That may not have been pretty if recent history is a guide.

The bright side is the same as it was before this series - they have a winning record, the 6th wild card remains up for grabs and the pitching is quite good. I feel much better about the hitters coming around to support them than I did a month ago when three of our top four starting pitchers were all shaky.

Two big tests coming - don't let the Mets get off the mat, and don't let the Cubs do what they did last year at Wrigley (even though they didn't end the season either).

If Charlie Manuel were the manager, there would be cries about his deferring to veterans. Harper, Schwarber, Castellanos, Realmuto, and Turner play nearly every game.

Of course the reality is that the alternatives are worse...
