But, we matched up with them well most of last season, beat them in the playoffs, and had a nice four-game split in Atlanta just a few weeks ago. Tonight the real difference was Strider who has always owned us when he's on (and was opposed by Covey in his only/epically bad start in Atlanta). And the good news, paradoxically, is we're not going to catch them for the division so this is just another loss (vs. a two-game swing).
I imagine Thomson will also say that he was managing for the Mets series and Sanchez's start (still can't be sure he'll go long) even with the Mets spiraling. But the Hoffman move (vs. any of the others after) still curious.
