This game is sickening. Knapp may have sealed his exit from this team in not blocking the ball that would have ended the game, as he just does not hit anywhere near enough to balance out his mediocre defense.

I think the GM bears a good deal of responsibility for the horrendous state of the bullpen by not getting a left hander in the off-season with all the money this team has at its disposal.

If it were not for bullpen blowups, I think we would be at least tied with the Braves.

This is another game that will either

a. Contribute to the forging of a great competitive team going to the post season for many years, or

b. Contribute to the complete collapse of the rebuilding team and give us sub .500 teams for years to come.

I like to think we are making progress, but the continued terrible play in the field cannot be tolerated or we will see a complete collapse.

So far, I don't think the manager is correcting the problems, but we will see.
