They shelved the cutter for two starts and he did much better with throwing the changeup more. Today he has thrown 1 changeup and 7 cutters.

Certainly a possibility. If they really figure Painter and Abel can be solid ML starters, then they can save some payroll space by filling them into the rotation after Wheeler.

Good to see Stubbs not swinging at balls like he did in his first at bat. Taking that walk got things rolling again.
