It was a tough loss, to get that much offense and lose. It was actually the first game where the shallow pen truly caught up with us. We'd been griping about the way Garcia and Hammer pitched in close-ish games from behind and last night we saw what it looks like when your Opening Day #7 and 8 relievers are your #2 and #3 (along with your former 5th/6th starter). And with Cole Irvin starting on Sunday, the chance - on paper - to actually take the series is largely gone.
I liked Hector's attitude after the game. He's having a great season. He made his pitch. But, he also walked the tying run, and Riley's hit wasn't that flukey. That's Hector though, he's going to walk guys and he's going to strike out guys, he can't really pitch to contact.
