Bryson Stott

Defensive Substitution: Ernie Clement replaces third baseman Justin Turner, batting 3rd, playing third base.
Pitching Change: Tim Mayza replaces Zach Pop.
In play, no out (91.8 mph sinker)

Bryson Stott singles on a line drive to left fielder Davis Schneider.

Clearly Thomson and Cotham are not automatically beholden to pitch counts, inning or third-time-through-the order, which is probably not a bad thing. Also they manage very differently in May than in October.

It's just a little surprising they didn't want Turnbull to pitch three innings, since they want to keep him stretched out supposedly. Now the question is, does he sit for another four days or is he available out of the pen on what would have been his throw day as a starter? The way things are going they probably won't need him in any case.

Edmundo Sosa

Ball (92.2 mph sinker)

Ball (88.6 mph slider)
Ball (92.3 mph sinker)
Ball (86.9 mph slider)
In play, no out (91.8 mph sinker)

Kyle Schwarber doubles (1) on a sharp line drive to center fielder Kevin Kiermaier.

Stubbs with a good at bat works the full count and takes ball four for a walk.

Sadly, the home plate ump blows the call and officially, it is recorded as a strike out.

Sure is nice to have a good lead so these small things do not bother me.

Whit Merrifield

It's extremely funny to watch the post game show right now, these guys don't know what to do with themselves without something to complain about.

Thomson says the script was for Sanchez to go five. But that means "Bull" is available in two days.

Wow! Things are really rolling along for the Phillies. So good in fact that I don't let a one out walk in the ninth, with a 9 run lead, bother me.

Another big game for the offense.

Back tomorrow afternoon looking for another sweep to end the home stand.
