I get in the habit of watching games slightly delayed, especially in the afternoon when I am "working" at my day job.
It is really interesting to watch this way with regards to the pace of play. Yesterday's game was on ESPN+ which has a 10-second skip button on the browser. Clicking that one between pitches is a good rhythm early in the game, especially with the two pitchers yesterday. One click was perfect as you advanced to about 5 seconds before the next pitch, a 15-18 second per pitch pace.
Once baserunners are on everything changes though. 2-3 clicks are usually necessary. More if the batter steps out or the pitcher throws over. But even without either of those 2 it really drops back to a 25-30 second per pitch pace. Since pitch clocks don't apply with runners on, I am actually wondering what actual difference the pitch clocks would make. The pace is already pretty good except with a handful of relievers when bases are empty.
