Winning these 3 against a team coming in with a pretty good record to date is great. Yes, the games have been close, but they hang on to get the wins.
Somewhat strange to score 5 runs before making an out and then get nothing after that, getting only one more hit the entire game. The grand slam from Didi was the offense tonight. The pitching was just good enough to get the win but frankly, the Brewers had 8 hits and 7 walks, but only 4 runs. Phillies got 5 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks. Certainly this will often lead to a loss. Who knows what the outcome would have been had replay not turned a Brewers' run to an inning ending out.
Good to see Alvarado back and getting the save with the scoreless ninth inning. Kinzler, Moore, and De Los Santos also had scoreless innings, so the bullpen got the job done. Yes, the bullpen has struggled some this year, but does seem to be improved over the group out there last season.
Back tomorrow afternoon going for the sweep.
