I don't think the offense checking out of the game is a thing that can be fixed/managed, and it's also a problem I'll take every night compared to the 2-1 games. Plus it seems like when we score 4-5 and then tack on a few, the bullpen still finds a way to make it close.
The offense just needs to be better in general, as does the pen, but both are also just extremely thin right now. With Alvarado back and Brogdon, Neris and Coonrod rested hopefully we won't have to see guys in spots that we don't want them to be in over the next few games (ideally the next four).
