I'm the last guy to defend Turner, but with Carroll running it was near impossible to turn the DP. Ball was hit ok and right at Stott but not hard enough to give them a real shot.
Of course, Turner botched the turn, so if it had been a normal runner, yes, he would have been responsible for yet another run with his defense and it would have been a killer.
Kruk pointed out on TV that a savvy SS probably could have taken a different route and got an interference because Pendamo forgot to slide. But the standard for Turner should be mediocre and on this play he met the standard. Here's hoping he can improve enough to be consistently mediocre, he hasn't been so far this year.
