Imagine having long ago purchased tickets to tonight's game. Do you brave this nasty weather, wait out a long delay, and maybe catch a few innings before you realize you've reached the hour where you've got to leave in order to get a decent night's sleep for work tomorrow? Or do you stay home and eat the $100 you put out for the tix when they play it without you?
I've been in this very situation twice already this year. Once, I stayed home (on a cold, rainy night they wound up beating MIL) and once I went (last night). Neither way really feels all that satisfying. Just a frustrating feeling like you really don't matter.
