Did anyone think that after his short Phillies stint, Charlie Morton would pitch another seven seasons (and counting) and win another 75 games (and counting)? Me either.
An interesting Charlie Morton fact: He is the active leader in hitting batters with 158, 41 ahead of the next guy (Johnny Cueto). He's 15th all time in that department and tied for sixth in the live ball era (with Noland Ryan, who pitched a lot more than Charlie). He's one behind Roger Clemens and two behind Jim Bunning. When he passes them (tonight???) he will just have two knuckleballers and Randy Johnson (ouch) ahead of him in the live ball era.
