I imagine they just bring Torreyes back because they have the extra 40-man spot in JoJo unfortunately. Moniak also makes sense short term for Kingery, though I wonder if they might think about Ryan Cordell also. They might think of him as more the veteran Gosselin type, but realistically with Didi injured and Kingery out you want someone else other than Maton who can play SS or really any position.

I think JoJo was still supposed to take some time and get a second opinion, though if he's in that "should I have surgery or not" space that ought to be enough for the longer IL anyway

Given that Torreyes is technically already on the 40 I doubt they will release him to bring up Luke Williams and lock down another roster spot. The fact that they may yet release Torreyes is actually what makes him attractive for now, at least until this all shakes out.

The first thing is to see if Didi needs to go on the IL.

Had not really thought about it but he is hitting the ball well and theoretically can play everywhere. Better move than Cordell certainly. Might cause a 40-man crunch at some point if players start to get healthy, but there are bigger problems to solve I guess. I guess the Klentak drafts are going to save us.

yeah but I'm assuming they will all stay day-to-day, whereas Didi had a more acute and ongoing issue. Proactively putting at least one of them on the IL to play it safe seems like a good idea, but options would remain limited if so.

If both catchers are hurt for real they'd also have a problem.

Maybe we'll see someone else catch a cold tomorrow.

That is what I figured. If you have to shut him down for a few weeks and then ramp him up, he'll probably need several rehab appearances and you are close to 60 days by the time all that would happen.
