If Falter is a reliever he's going to be at the bottom of the list though. More mop-up/long man. Which is why Nelson could have the gig instead. Brogdon and Soto are getting the innings they imagined for Strahm. Heck, Kimbrel hadn't even been signed at that point either. And now Strahm is stretched out to start. In the end, sure, he could give 6 innings once a week or 2 innings 3x week, but Falter is your veritable, "he's good enough, for a 5th starter" guy and Strahm has been better than that. I just figure any failed starter can eventually figure it out as a reliever but a reliever who can actually start is rare (even if Suarez has been both pretty recently).
Forget Strahm, an 0-5 pitcher (most losses in MLB!) with a 5.01 ERA is someone who should be in danger of losing their job to Sanchez, or anyone else, if the Phillies had anyone else. No, he's not into Matt Moore or Chase Anderson territory yet but this team has bigger ambitions than that one. And Painter clearly isn't showing up before July (if then).
