Thing is, I think Sosa was a better SS, and Marsh was definitely better LF. But the eye test really can't measure anything other than errors and balls that look like they should have been gotten to but weren't. The advanced stats can't measure anything precisely either but they measure a lot more - and a much greater sample. Speaking for myself I can't say for sure how good Sosa is or how bad Bohm is compared to every other 3B in MLB because I haven't seen the other 29 guys make or not make thousands of plays (in total). And I wouldn't even pretend to be able to translate the eye test into DRS or FRAA. But those things do still have some rigor behind them.

Tough one run loss in the final game in Houston.

Cannot complain about taking two of three games on the road in Houston. Let's win the series in LA as well.

Phillies have their least effective starter going tonight. Touched for all 4 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks in only 4.1 innings. It could have been worse. The bullpen goes 3.2 innings, no runs, only one hit, no walks. Well done once again.

Would have been nice to sweep, hard as that is.

I don't see how they can possibly leave Falter in the rotation and move Strahm back when Ranger's ready. Strahm has been too good, as has the bullpen - which is also stacked with lefties. Soto has essentially taken his role, even if he doesn't have quite the same length. But they also have Sanchez, Nelson (soon) and Falter himself.

I agree. When you look at the numbers, Strahm is clearly the better choice as an SP. Falter can take a mop up role int he BP and be available as an extra starter when needed. Of course, the Phils would rather keep their "extra" starter pitching every 5 or 6 day, even if that means in Allentown.
