Don't want to end on a negative note. Another great win for the young Phillies. Record now 15-8, back to 7 games over .500 and evens the series with a very tough Arizona team.
A solid start from Arrieta, even though he was not dominating. Gives up 3 runs but only one earned. Only 4 hits and as I recall, those were not hit that hard. He gets the win to go to 3-0 and his ERA falls to 1.82, so he certainly is giving the rotation a solid starter at the top (1/2). Another big home run from Altherr gave the Phillies the win tonight. Phillies out hit the D-Backs, 10-5. Neris does record the save, his 5th.
Three errors tonight and that is a concern. I wonder if fielding would improve if they had a set infield that played together almost all the time. Being able to play multiple positions is great, especially for the bench players, but maybe regulars normally playing one position on a steady basis would create more consistency. Something to discuss on another thread.
Don't forget, the game tomorrow is an afternoon game. Phillies go for the series win.
