Looking at our lineup, it is just shocking how good the offense has been. 30 years ago we would see averages in the .230s - .270s and say this team is not producing. With a little better understanding, look at those freaking OBP. 3 guys around .400 (great), and all at the top of the lineup, 3 guys in the .350 area (very good), and that is the bottom of our lineup. Everyone has at least ..065 between their BA and OBP, and 4 guys are over .114.
If they keep that up, they will product a ton of runs. Maybe 5.0 - 5.5 per game, you can win alot of games that way.
(I excluded Quinn and Kingery and didnt bother looking up Segura, as I know he is also having a very good start).
We don't need a great pitching staff if we keep doing anything near this level. A league average pitching staff and 820 runs will win. (exactly 0 NL teams last year averaged 5 runs per game, the Dodgers were close at 4.93). So far this year we are at 5.78, we wont maintain that, but really only Franco is hitting wildly over his head this year. (once again not counting Kingery or other guys who dont have many PAs)
We have 89 walks in 18 games (5/game). That is ridiculously high, I doubt we had any stretch of 18 games like that since the last core (2012). It cant be maintained, but even close to that will make us unstoppable.
