I love to see Jackie Robinson Day, it is a great part of baseball history that DID go into American History. Robinson playing baseball was a step in changing America.

That said, how about Branch Rickey Day along with it. One could argue he had just as much courage in many ways (ok, close at least). He should be remembered also, maybe have the managers and coaches where his name.

Frustrating game, so many chances. Hate to see Neshek be the one to botch this.

In years past you would now send out tomorrow’s starter to save the exhausted pen and bring up a AAA starter tomorrow and hope to get 5 out of him.

That doesn't sound like something that happened very often to me but forget today's game: you'd also need an optionable reliever. I guess in that scenario they would send Anderson back down, call up the spot starter, then send the spot starter back down for another reliever. Obviously Arano isn't going back down.
