Last night's game was about as good as baseball gets. Tight as piano wire. Every move counted. Our HC coach makes decisions that many would question, like removing Nola with 2 out in the 5th and spending one of our 2 star relievers early in the game. As one of the many, I'm learning to say, "Right, coach." more and more. As the game started, it looked like Verlander was going through the Phils wthout breaking a sweat. OTOH, it seemed like the Astros got a bunch of really cheap hits - swinging bunts, bloop singles hit off their fists, pop ups so badly mishit the OF couldn't reach them. The all of a sudden it was TIED - I think they said 4th largest comeback in WS history. Realmuto for President, btw.
The announcers had a slobbering love affair with the Astros' pen. Maybe well supported, but I got tired of listening to it after the second time. The junkyard dogs' pen, well, they were just not quite as good as the Astros'. Some of the announcers also had good things to say for Robertson. Only things I have to say about him is he seems to like to pitch with 2 men on, he has great luck, he can scare a rock and Marino's records are safe from him. Right, coach.
IMHO, these teams are just getting started. The rest of the Series is gonna be just as tight. HUGE opportunity today with Ace Wheeler on the mound. Can the Phils bring a 2 - 0 lead back to Philly?
GO PHILS!!!!!
