Atlanta wanted that more and is a food team. But that was an ugly implosion with a lot if mistakes.

Pass D and Pass Rush are still huge problems. Absolutely nothing when they needed plays.

Defense was as porous as last year. No pressure at all against a slow runner like Cousins. Saquon lost the game for us this time too. NY Giants losing jinx

Not really it’s football, but our D is still an issue. No pressure up front & bad secondary defense playing 5yds off a receiver is totally unacceptable < note I like that word lol

An inconsistent offense and very weak defense does not bode well for the season.

The pass D and rush are bad and the tackling awful. For example, I started counting how many missed tackles Blankenship had, but gave up when it approached double digits and the rest of the D was also blowing them left and right.

Opponents also continue to dominate the middle of the field against us. Last week's darling, Zach Baun, got exposed in coverage as did the other LB, S and CB. The scary thing is the run D is almost as poor.

Other than the last series, which was a lazy prevent D, I thought the pass defense was better than the run defense for most of the game. The refusal to blitz is a problem with the D game plan.

The pass rushing defensive ends are not containing the edges or applying pressure. Huff looks like a bust so far. Smith looks like a bust. Sweat was better when he wasn't the first option. Carter isn't as disruptive as Cox. Eagles have a lot of talent/potential but are not getting enough out of this defensive line. What was once a strength is now a weakness.

It's time to take a look at Ojomo and Booker at tackle and let Carter play some snaps at the "5" or even the "7" position. Davis needs to have his snaps limited.

Huff does not look like an everydown player

I work with. An ex-New Yorker and he said he was mad they traded Huff, because he was their second best defensive player. All I know is that the pash rush was pathetic and the prevent defense prevents wins. Strangely because the Niners and Cowboys lost, I kinda felt this was coming.

Huff was not an everydown player for the Jets, they only brought him in in passing situations. He had a lot of sacks and a lot of hurries, but the Eagles signed him to play all four downs and it does not look like he has the skill set to play all four downs, just a passing play specialist. At this point in the season, Reddick has shown more value to the Jets as a hold out than Huff has to the Eagles as a starter.

Davis is a NT, and should be used as such in a 3 man front.
They've been going 4-2 with Davis at DT, which makes more demands on his lateral agility and negates his raw power to some extent.
I'd go 5-1 with Huff as pass rush specialist and Sweat and Smith on run downs. Williams - Davis - Carter.
Or 4-2 with 3 man front, Sweat as "under" and Baun shifting between OLB and ILB.

Eagles D shows up and Hurts decides to suck. I'm beginning to think we might be watching the beginning of the end of Hurts in Philly. I hope I'm wrong though.
