By the way, how did the inquirer manage to trade up in round 1 and still end up with 8 draft picks? Were they trading from 2024 assets?

I like the Anderson/Gibbs pair at the top of this draft. I might like Robinson/Kancey better, but I'd be pretty pleased with the above result, too.

Unless I missed it, they didn't factor in the trade up to #7. It says that it would take two day 2 picks to get it done, but then don't have them removed from the picks. The trade back to #38 is how they get picks 100 and 141.

Forget what anyone does or doesn't think of Gannon, super-embarassing for Arizona to have made a phone call it shouldn't have and pay for it. Unless you think they just consider tampering to be the price of doing business (certainly the Sixers do).

Carter. Hate it. Guy has a low motor and serious character issues, this is way too high to be drafting a guy that there are concerns about him taking extended numbers of plays off. He and Jordan Davis sometimes fed each others bad habits.

Worst case scenario.

Seems like classic Eagles to me. Not that they are always right on character stuff but they couldn't pass up the ceiling at that spot (even with the move-up).

To be honest both. Obviously I hope I am wrong, if we have a DL coach that can get these guys playing hard we have a generational DT combo, but they are both guys that are more known for their potential than actual production.

His off field character is just as much of an issue. Just because you win the drag race doesn't mean you aren't guilty of manslaughter. Honestly, this is an immense risk, there are just too many reasons ed flags here in my opinion.

Yeah, Gibbs was projected late first at best, likely second round, never thought he’d go at 12! Now I’m leaning towards trading down with the 30th pick unless someone like Smith drops in their lap.

The move up was funny to me. I guess they were either afraid that the Bears were going to pick him or that some other team was angling to jump in front of them. Not much of a cost (next years 4th), but a very "Howie" move to be aware of what other moves are going on around the league that might hurt us.

I think getting #66 complicates a trade down unless it involves picks next year. I am fine with another trade up for Smith or Porter or maybe a few other players.

A future 4th is a small price to play so no one else trades up for the player you want.

I really would like to see a Safety or LB late in the first round (at 30 +/~ 10). Safety to me is the biggest need, but I can't help but suspect we will go OT or even Edge.
