The Niners are traveling to play the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC championship game on Sunday. They have not made any decision about whether Omenihu, a key member of the defense, will play and are still in the "information gathering" phase, according to a one-sentence statement they released Tuesday.

way, way, way too much overconfidence here. Merrill was just interviewed on Philly TV and he said all the people he talks to and his friends are looking at a 20 point win. It's great to have 2 major sports teams in Championships this year. one was a little surprising and we rode that to the World Series. The eagles have somewhat been figured to be here. '17 had Folsie (a back up QB) take the eagles to the Super Bowl and won. the 49's have Purdy in the same situation. people are just assuming that Purdy will fold under the pressure and crowd noise. I don't think so. The Cassandra in me is starting to leak out. It would be great to have another Philly team in the finals. They have the team to do it. I think the game rests on Hurts' shoulders. not sure about this one. I'm seeing 21-10 49ers. But I also thought the giants had a decent chance to win last weekend. I think the game will be determined on the "toin coss" as someone mentioned years ago. What will the winning team choose...O or D. Hopefully I am completely wrong. Go Birds! enjoy the game.

It has been a great season, no matter what happens in the next game or two.

I honestly can't name a disappointing player on this team. I expected more from Davis and Dean this year, but frankly the guys in front of them never gave them a chance to play more. Kyzir White is the closest to a disappointment as his play faded during the season, but he has played ok. Fletch got old, but he is still capable of making a play at times. BG actually got better due to reduced load.

We found a QB for at least the next 5 years, and a guy that is very easy to root for. He works harder than anyone.

Gannon is not a good DC in my opinion, but you can't really argue with the results. I think we should have been getting 5-8 sacks a game all year instead of the last half of the season, but still 70 sacks is incredible even if I think we left some on the drawing board.

The WR and Goeddert were great. The OL is maybe the best in team history. The CB's are maybe the best in team history.

Nice to see DeMeco Ryan's get his chance at being a Head Coach. I assume it is only for 1-2 years before Houston fires him because there is no chance the team will succeed. Hopefully his 2nd chance will be with a real NFL team.

I desperately needed some cheering up this morning and saw that the Eagles / Patriots SB game was on this morning.

So weird that it was only 5 years ago and only a handful of the Eagles are even still in the league. A team that didn't seem that old, but as it turns out so many guys were near the end of their career.

I am optimistic though that the 2018 Eagles can hold on to win.

I don't really follow football but I sat on the couch with a group of friends to watch that game because it was the Super Bowl and the Eagles were playing. My dear friend sitting next to me was rooting for the Pats, which added to the fun. During the game I remember thinking, "I don't remember football being this exciting -- this is amazing! I might watch football more often!" It wasn't until afterwards that I read sportswriters' accounts of the game and realized that it was indeed a Super Bowl for the ages.

I'll watch the game next Sunday, too, but I don't expect it to match the 2018 epic. I'm thinking about it like I thought about the World Series. I wanted the Philadelphia team to win, but I didn't expect them to be there in the first place, so it all felt like gravy.

Here we go. 2nd time in 5 years. The last one I was hoping but didn't think the eagles would beat Brady. What an awesome win. this time it is different. I, like others, are not really too nervous on this one. Really happy they made it back so quickly. So much talk and praise about the Eagles OLine and deservedly so. not much talk about the Chiefs D Line, which is pretty good as well. Chip on their shoulder? I'm sure. Eagles D Line will have to really show ups against a very good Line from the chiefs. with all this said the game will come down to the QB's. Mahomes has much more experience in big games. his passing and escapability are better. his accuracy is better. Hurts has not played well since he has come back from his shoulder injury. Are they both 100%, who knows. Hurts needs a big game today. he is capable. I expect Mahomes to get the ball quickly out of his hand to prevent pressure. the running game better be on for the Eagles. A lot of tines, in big games, a major injuries, changes the outcome. hopefully not today. love to see them win but I see 31-27 Chiefs, with a late TD to win it. Will the City be disappointed again in a championship? Great that the Phils and Eagles have made it and I think they will be relevant for the next 5 years. Injuries can deter that, but we'll see. I hope I'm wrong. enjoy the day and the game. Go Birds!
