From what I have seen the Eagles have $3.58 Million in cap room at the moment. Anyone they sign will bump a player that makes $850K off the list, so I actually think they could sign a development QB and a CB maybe. They can probably find a development QB to at least fill in at camp for that league minimum, there are always a few QBs out there that are needing a team.
Dickerson should be slightly less than $2M. So his signing costs is $1M on the cap (he bumps an 850K off the list).
Riding themselves of JJAW saves 600K. That move is obvious.
They can save a lot of Derek Barnettās $10M+ cap hit if they sign him to a contract. Not sure how willing he is. I would think he would jump at a 3 year, 20M contract since he will be hard pressed to get a big contract based on his statistics so far. My guess is that it is very possible that Josh Sweat will get more playing time than him.
They save 4.9M by cutting Ertz. Unless they find a $4M+ CB they want I donāt see the point in cutting him. That said, despite being a very good team player it is probably asking a lot of Ertz to be a good soldier on a team that so clearly wants to move on from him. At this point I would lower the trade cost to a 6th rounder or some type of trade up (a 5th for our 6th, etc).
