And Dickerson signed, so all the draft picks are signed now. Not sure how Howie did it without moving Ertz yet, but I still can't imagine he'll be on the team to start the year.

The kid is a monster. if he stays healthy, i think he is all pro (either guard or center). Could be the steal of the draft. also i see mentioned that the Texans are willing now to think of trading watson. if it's for what i heard, 3 first rounders and 2 starters, no freaking way. That would be worse of a fleece job than reuben ever had.

If Watson did not have the sexual assault allegations hanging over him he'd be worth 3 firsts and two starters. But he does, so he's not. I don't want any part of that soap opera. There is no evidence that he's sorry for what he did, and how do we know he wouldn't get himself in trouble again if we signed him?

If Watson is convicted he’ll go to jail and not be able to play. A lot of the future to risk.

He is not yet facing any criminal charges (and may never, or at least would not be convicted. Which sucks).

But no matter. It's a bad look, and he'll almost surely face an NFL suspension if nothing else.

Of course this team also has a history of signing quarterbacks who've been to jail.

I don't know that I am. Seems more likely the next Eagles QB is someone they draft or trade for next year. But given how much time and effort and trouble they've put into what is now the Hurts era, and given they can't win a championship this season regardless, may as well let it play out. Watson with no baggage might be a different story.

Despite the Eagles being featured here it sounds like he's not going anywhere any time soon. He thinks next spring.

The Texans have been willing to trade quarterback Deshaun Watson for months, but teams aren’t making offers because of his legal issues that include 22 civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and misconduct as well as police and NFL investigations.

For some reason, many seem to think because Watson reported to training camp with the other quarterbacks and rookies on Sunday to avoid being fined $50,000 a day that all of a sudden the Texans are interested in trading him.

That’s not the case. General manager Nick Caserio would have traded Watson before, during or after the draft — not to mention yesterday, today and tomorrow. The Texans want to trade Watson, and he wants to be traded.

With the first practice of training camp Wednesday morning, Watson still hasn’t resolved his legal issues, and no team has yet to step up with a legitimate offer to entice Caserio.

Included in the discussion of Reagor failing his conditioning test is that he lost a close friend recently to murder. That is obviously sad, but it is very disappointing that a guy who had a pretty bad rookie season showed up in sub-optimal condition. We already had to use another 1st round pick because he isn’t a #1 WR, now one has to really question how hard he is really working. Unfortunate.

Too early to be worried about the draft pick, but I really hope they don’t sign an experienced backup.

Well, I don't want to wish ill health on Carson but if it's so bad that the Eagles end up losing the draft pick it might still look like an even better trade than it was at the time.

Wentz has declined to disclose his vaccination status. If he's unvaccinated, he could miss games due to restrictions on unvaccinated players, which could also affect the value of the draft pick the Eagles will receive.

There seems to be a lot more pressure in the NFL to do it. I suppose it's also possible he's just playing the privacy card. But would not be surprising that a North Dakotan wasn't.

Apparently he appeared at a press conference masked (which the NFL requires for unvaccinated players) and declined to disclose his vaccination status. It seems likely he isn't vaccinated, but we can't be sure.

Heh, well, that either means he's not vaccinated or he is very appropriately being extra-cautious and considerate. Unfortunately we know which one is more likely.

Breaking: Frank Reich says Carson Wentz had an old foot injury dating back to perhaps high school according to doctors. Over time, the broken bone came loose and caused pain. The decision has been made to undergo surgery and remove it. 5-12 weeks.

And in more depressing news, DeVonta Smith has a sprained MCL and is out 2-3 weeks.

Bad for our draft compensation from trade, but an indication that we were perhaps lucky to have traded him when we did. A big question about whether he can return to his top form with another team takes a blow, or at least a serious delay.

There are several reasons why I am happy to see Wentz out of town. At the top of it is his fragile physicality. Who would have thought that a player at his position with his physique would be hurt as much as he has been during his career,
