That was an old fashioned Hiney whipping. The game turned on that under 2 minute drive at the end of the half. they had plenty of time to come down and score at least 3 and those 3 plays they ran were terrible. AND the 20 yard punt by the Australian was pathetic. game was gone. oh well, again, a better draft position. Root for the Pats today and the first pick should be in the 14th area.

They rested 16 of their 22 starters, and the Cowboys played to win. Given that, they played very well, although I would have liked to see them blitz Dak pretty much every down and hit him as much as possible. I want him sore in case we play them next week!

Quoting from another board, here is our situation:

-- If New Orleans gets into the playoffs (SF L + NO W), Eagles will be #6 seed and go to #3 Tampa Bay

-- If San Francisco gets into the playoffs (SF W OR NO L), Eagles will be the #7 seed
------ If the Rams win and Saints lose (SF backdoor into playoffs), the Eagles go to #2 LA Rams
------ If the Rams lose and Buccaneers win, the Eagles go to #2 Tampa Bay
------ If the Rams lose, Buccaneers lose and Cardinals win, the Eagles go to #2 Arizona
------ If the Rams lose, Buccaneers lose and Cardinals lose, the Eagles go to #2 Dallas

To me it looks like playing at the Rams is the most likely result.

It is just bad luck that we couldn’t get a cold weather game. Honestly, in a blizzard I think the Eagles are an extremely dangerous team, almost even favored. In warm weather and clear skies we are greatly hampered by our silly defensive approach and non-elite passing game. Still, in the playoffs, lots of our key players will benefit from just getting to play in a playoff game, even if it is to realize that they stil have a ways to go.

It is going to be a big discussion point of where to spend the 3 first round picks. LB and S seem like really big holes, maybe looking to find Lane Johnson’s replacement, maybe a Guard, Maybe a DE. Since the picks fell so far, might just have to go with best available. I would not go RB, C, DT or WR (those last em3 might be debatable).

i agree PC. prescott got off way to clean in that game. i was happy to see some of the practice guys play. i think Marvin wilson has a shot to make it. talented kid from FSU but had some motor problems. if he can get and keep motivated, he's in the mix.

I don't think the Eagles will draft a safety or a linebacker in round 1. DE is a high priority. CB is a high priority. I think they may trade down and take multiple safeties and LBs in lower rounds.

I think best player available, with a tilt toward LB, S, DE if it's a close call on identity of BPA.

I wouldn't rule out WR. We badly need another plus receiver. If the top C falls to us (Kelce isn't forever), I wouldn't pass that either, although I think 2 of the 3 first rounders should go to D. It should be possible to get a decent development OL guy in rounds 2 or 3. Should be possible to get a decent plug-and-play RB in round 2 or 3 or 4. Howard is our only big back and I'm not sure how long we can depend on him.

Not the first-round position we were expecting, but I'm happy we made the playoffs. I want them to use all 3 of their picks this year.

PC -- I really don't want them to trade down. We have plenty of picks. We need more difference-makers and have a higher chance in round one. 5 picks in first 3 rounds is plenty of numbers, trading some good for a lot of mediocre seems not the way to go.

Howie hasn't done at all well drafting CBs.

A DE is probably the greatest need. Not sure we have a chance at one of the better ones in our first-round slots. History seems to say that we've done as well in later rounds ( Williams, Sweat) as in the non-primo first round slots.

I don't think I want a trade down, either, but I think they will either trade down or trade for future picks. The exception would be if someone would be interested in us trading up to get a stud DE/Edge rusher.

Well, let us root for the Jaguars and Patriots today. I agree, I wouldn't mind trading two picks to move up to grab a sorely needed DE, otherwise, I would keep two picks and trade one for a future first+ if some team behind them has a player they must have that the Eagles don't want themselves.

So far, things are breaking good for the Eagles. In addition to the Colts loss, the Browns and Vikings won, which is significant if the Dolphins lose as I think both teams would move ahead of them in the draft order.

Leave it to the Lions to win and cost themselves the # 1 pick.

Colts officially out of the playoffs with the Steelers win. Someone needs to let the Dolphins know we need them to lose in order for the Eagles to benefit from all the other results this weekend. They scored two quick TDs against the Pats already.

Almost feel bad for the Colts. But not! In the long run, that trade may hurt them. Not sure he has won over the fan base or the franchise.

Who would have thought we'd get a 2022 playoff game between the Rams and Eagles (potentially) with neither Goff nor Wentz?

not really, and not like the Eagles last night. Hightower is dinged up so he is inactive to get healthy for the playoffs, and the announcers said they will be more cautious than normal if anyone is hurting today

We probably won't get that game because the Rams are winning and the Saints are winning. Rams win, they are the second seed, Saints win, Eagles are the 6th seed.

This is highly deceiving. The Eagles have rarely drafted a CB in the first few rounds in the last decade. Also, Poyer and Douglas are 2 of the best DBs in the NFL this year.
