Hamler is never on the board with my round 2 pick in simulations...I really like the draft I did today, it's still an A- on first-pick, but I think the WR position is solved, at least. Alex Taylor will challenge to start. I like Claypool way more than they do.

I like that draft. I think it very appropriate that you spent first 3 picks on offense, which was slighted in FA signings and the trade. Not sure why you got only a B on Claypool. Which other receivers were available then? With V gone, we do need a guy who can be a backup tackle. You get a backup guard later in draft. Good to add a cornerback. 4th round good to try for a developmental QB. I have zero confidence in 6th/7th round QB picks. If you see a guy with promise, teams shouldn't wait past round 4. I know nothing about Gibson, but nice to have a 3rd WR to throw into the mix. Round 5 is a good spot to choose WR #3, because some chance at decent quality, but unless you get really lucky, the guy is going to have to survive on practice squad.

Which brings up an interesting question. With likelihood of coronavirus pandemic impacting training camp, what is likelihood that NFL goes with expanded rosters to start the season?

Seems like expanded rosters (in baseball or football) is just increased risk. I don't think the NFL can have a shortened training camp in any case, even if there aren't actual pre-season games.

Went in with plans to be early top heavy on WR but my guys were all gone when my pick came up, so I traded down and still achieved what I wanted. Still very happy with my three WR, and also fixed the LB spot and added really good long term solutions to CB and S. Got my smash mouth RB, added to the lines.

Your score is slightly higher than my last draft, but I stayed put in round 1 b/c Lamb was still on the board. I guess I took Claypool too high...but I like him enough to pick him there. He'd be a great hybrid WR/TE, almost like Alshon really is.

If Lamb had been available, I would have taken him and not traded down. What is interesting about this game is that each time it is different. Players that have been available in certain rounds in earlier draft picks scenarios were gone. Overall, even though I went a different direction and it appears I neglected the offense, I am really happy with Aiyuk, Claypool, Driscoll, Jefferson (watched him a lot!), Dillon, Hanson and Perkins. And then to add on defense, Queen, Winfield, Harrison, Davis and Davis is incredible. This defense will be set.

How is it that the game is giving the Eagles 10 picks? They traded a 3rd and a 5th for Slay, so they only have 8 picks remaining.

He traded back to the 2nd round and got several picks in that transaction

Yeah, that was obvious with no first rounder in the draft, but most of these drafts have 10 or more picks. How do trades work, are they suggested or do you propose them or both?

I have only proposed a couple of trades, moving up in the first round. Both have been rejected.

When it is your turn to pick, there are always trades offered for you to review. Along with that, you need to look at your board and see if your main guys are still there or gone. The hard part is that every draft is somewhat different so you need to have backup guys you are after. I have learned a lot and now will be able to really be critical of Howie!!!

I took a crack at it, I would have liked to have taken a OT or OG, but where I was picking, value wasn't there.

No one has broken 40,000 points yet...part of it might be that we know the Eagles better than the algorithm does, and they may want us to draft positions like DT where we know we are solid.

Let's make it a goal to get over 40k...I think Florida sunshine had a 39997 and I had a 39984. Everyone else has gotten close.

Howie can be replaced by a bunch of internet fans...

Here you go. I made two trades to add picks in the later rounds and that seems to have done the trick.

What I did here was accumulate later round draft picks by trading down a few places in rounds 3 and 4.

That's where the logic is not built in, it seems their algorithm values accumulating picks, and doesn't grade your drafts on how well you fill your needs or even how many best available picks you make. No team is going to draft 13 players because of the rookie pool they build into their salary cap can't support that.

As a college football fan I'd certainly enjoy seeing Lamb, Taylor or Hamler on the Eagles.

So: let's assume there's no NFL season this year. Does that change your draft? More "projects" or less pressing needs perhaps?

That's a good draft, although I am not familiar with the picks after Dillon.

A good solid draft with lots of picks to make the team younger. Lots of needs filled. I assume Taylor in round 2 was because he dropped? I think he was the highest rated RB.
