The #Eagles and DE Brandon Graham have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension.

Shocking.

I guess we know where a fair amount of the Foles money went. Well, some of it at least. Graham is an interesting guy, he doesnt get sacks but has led the league in QB Pressures each of the last 2 seasons (at least on 1 site). He is a big part of the defense, but I hope we did get a little bit of a hometown discount because we do have some needs and not much cap room (LB, RB and as always for some reason WR and Safety)

You never have to worry about cap room with Howie. It was interesting, Joe Banner said in one of his athletic interviews that teams could always create cap space (at least a certain amount of it).

I assume they tried to work out an extension because they were clearly going to not pick up his option given his injury last year.

It will be interesting to see what happens with our guys that are FA but were injured last year. Jernigan, Darby and Ajayi all meet needs and might sign at a discount, but then again they might want to see what they can make on the open market. Hopefully we can get at least 2 of them, as all 3 were quality players when they were on the field.

I suspect Eagles will release Michael Bennett. He's asking for a salary increase.

Kapadia mentioned in an Athletic Q/A yesterday that the Eagles were aware of locker room issues with Bennett that also led to the trade. Speculation that he was the major source behind the "Wentz is selfish" stories, and that did not sit well with many of his teammates. Good riddance.

If true, I guess it was a deliberate plan to force his way out of town.

That's an astute observation...lots of what he has done seems like he was trying to force his way out. Asking for a raise and dissing Wentz will definitely put you on the endangered list with the Eagles, and he had to know that.
