Will be interesting to see if they just release Kessler or if they make him #3 and try to get Thorson to the practice squad. I wouldnt be suprised if they try that if someone doesnt poach Thorson and make him a #3.

I would rather just see Kessler released at this point with an injury settlement. He isnt worth a roster spot.

I think they carry Wentz, Sudfeld and McCown on the 53 and deactivate Sudfeld. They will waive Thorsen and try to get him through to the Practice Squad. Kessler is odd man out.

No idea why we wasted 2 (short) drives and time with the starters on Cody Kessler. He shouldn’t even be considered at this point. 1 nice pass and 4 laughably bad ones, including a screen he threw backwards, nearly resulting a turnover and possible TD.

Rumors that Texans may trade Clowney and that they wanted a WR back (which makes no sense to me, they have good WRs), but they also need OL help and they just lost their starting RB for the year with a torn ACL. Eagles might be in position to trade for him. Elsewhere with Andrew Luck retiring, the Colts might be interested in Sudfeld. Howie's phone will be red hot for the next couple of weeks.

I don’t think I would want Clowney. He wants top end money and has terrible knees. Bone on bone.

I think we have enough defensive ends. Why trade for one season of a guy with health issues?

We have a lot of bodies, but let's look at our defensive ends. Graham is good for 9 - 10 sacks. Barnett is coming off our shoulder surgery, no way to know how good he'll be. Curry has averaged 3 sacks a season since 2015. Sweat is unproven and hasn't had a great preseason, Hall was picked up off the scrap heap, albeit has looked against other teams backups in the preseason, no guarantee he'll be effective when the lights come on. Miller won't play this year.

The Eagles are shooting for the Super Bowl this year, so what if he is a one year rental, Clowney has had 9 and 9.5 sacks the last two years. the Eagles have the cap room for this year (I'm not sure how, but Howie has them 20 Mil under the cap), Why not go for it. Because he's a rental it might not take that much to get him, something like Vitai and a 2nd might do it.

Thoughts----We are going to lose our 4th string QB if we try to get him on the taxi squad. Thorson is just too good to not be picked up by another team.

Trade Sudfeld to Indianapolis to be their #2 and backup to Jacoby Brissett He is a graduate of Indiana. They will know what a good project he is. Get a #2 or #3 pick back. It's a shame...I think he has a bright future but we can't keep 4 QBs.

Then take the acquired draft pick, package that with Josh Adams and Stefan Wisniewski to Houston to replace their best back who just tore his ACL Saturday night and receive Jadeveon Clowney and his big salary and personal issues in return. Houston fills two needs, gets a nice draft pick and gets rid of problems.

OK ....I'm done. Except for buying the Super Bowl tickets.

Good plan except the Texans want a OT not a G, Vitai would be the guy they want, in that scenario Wiz makes the team here as the backup G, otherwise there is a good chance he gets cut.

I doubt the broken finger is all that big of a deal once it is wrapped. It is nice to read this stuff about how he has been practicing and not pulling himself out of practice. I always really wanted to like this guy because he did so many things well, but he also quit on the team a few times (by his own admission) when he was younger. He wont be the same explosive guy that we once had, but if his head is screwed on better he is certainly one of (if not the best) #2 WRs in the league.

Thorson doing a good job of making sure he will make it to the practice squad. I can’t see many teams excited to see him as a 3rd stringer. Honestly though, he might look at a different practice squad since we have 2 QBs that are young and he is unlikely to pass.

Funny to here them talking about what a good tackler Hawkins is. Yea, if your guy is wide open on every play you get lots of chances to tackle. He did make a TD saving tackle on a run.

I hate that Wentz didn’t play at all. It is just silly.

Hall is continuing to scare the crap out of OL on virtually every play. Sack, strip, forced fumble. Honestly this guy might be the League Preseason MVP.

Shittu with a great first half. He will be a tough cut. He might get picked up.

Pumphrey badly misjudges a punt, that might have been his last hope to make a team (he did at least catch it). He was drafted to replace Sproles but he just doesn’t make any plays.

Hopefully we don’t waste any more snaps on Keemun. Thank you for picking up McCown, Thorson and Keenum would lead this team to an 0-16 season, Thorson has hope at least.

Pumphrey is trash as a football player.

Thorson may see Sudfield leaving as a FA at the end of the year for a better opportunity, and McCown pretty old that he’s positioned to be Wentz’s backup for a couple years if everything works out so it might be more positive than it otherwise sounds to join the PS for the Eagles.

This is the only time where someone hopes for a broken leg. Much better to get an injury settlement or get out on injured reserve than just outright cut.

Notes: I'd think they'd love to keep WR Ward on the practice Squad, but his preseason was too good, some other team will sign him. Not thrilled with cutting Wiz and Hester, but too many rotation players are going to miss time early in the season that they need to carry 6 LB, 6 CB to start the year. Hester will probably sign elsewhere, but naybe they can bring Wiz back later in the season if he is still unsigned once the roster settles. Also, not thrilled with Perkins as the 3rd TE, I like what Ellis did in the preseason, I'd be willing to roll the dice on him and drop Perkins.

Since the 3rd QB doesn't dress, they could look to trade Sudfeld. If they trade for Clowney, I would expect a phantom injury for Miller, putting him on the IR
