The Eagles showed in Miami that it doesn't take a plus QB to beat them. A very ordinary, old QB, without a RB was more than enough to make our defense look futile.

i'm just replaying the game from DVR. we were traveling and i was listening to it on the radio on Sunday. The drive that the eagles had at 28-20 after the Dolphins touchdown was very good. i heard the Ertz drop on the radio and just saw it. Man what a turn around. right in his hands. then the sack. that was the ballgame right there.

Heck at this rate we technically don't have to win either of those games. We lose both of them, Cowboys lose to Rams, we beat Cowboys, both teams are 6-9 with one to play.

But yes obviously much easier to win at least one of these next two, and much easier to wrap it up if they win both. Who knows if they can? Honestly don't know what to think about the Eli factor. Could go either way.

Crazy part to me is that we could actually lose to the Cowboys and still win the division. Cowboys lose out except beat the Eagles, Eagles win out except lose to the Cowboys and sadly enough we are in at 8-8. Cowboys would have to lose to the Redskins, which seems unlikely, but they did lose to the Jets, so it is possible (and they could say the same about us losing the Dolphins).

Eagles hold the tie breaker if we beat the Cowboys. We have a better record against common opponents. Exception would be if we lose a division game and Cowboys lose to Rams, but beat Redskins, then they would win based on division record.

Either way whoever fails to lose the division (that is the right way to phrase it) is going to be a prohibitive home underdog in the first round.

Yes, that is my thought too, but you never know. I remember a few years ago with the 9-7 Cardinals made a run to the Super Bowl, eliminating the Eagles along the way. This Eagles team has beaten the Packers, Bills and honestly gave the Patriots and Seahawks all they wanted. They have also lost to the Dolphins and Falcons.

You never know in the playoffs, but yes, it is hard to imagine either of the Eagles or Cowboys not getting just slaughtered. But the difference between making the playoffs and missing is only a few draft slots, might as well have the excitement.

You never know but the quality of the two wild card teams is especially high this year (as is the low quality of the East). And the draft pick gap is pretty big if you assume the Eagles aren't winning 9. Right now they'd pick 13th and if they really went 7-9 might even sneak into the Top 10. If they win the division, it's 21st. So I specifically would not want to win it as a 7-9 team. 8-8? Maybe. 9-7? That means they do win it.

Remember, the correct term is not winning, but “failing to lose”, I have seen winning teams, neither of these two qualify. Sadly, I don’t think either is trying to not win, they just are good at not winning.
