Yes it becomes moot if they can't win in Arlington (or if they lose Monday). If they can pull that off, who knows? They could surprise the Rams. They could also lose to the Texans. If they are playing for first place in the last game I'd take it.

time to get the big rugby kid in there to get him established. Also put pryor in for some snaps. they have to see what they have on the line, before the '19 draft. they blew this season and for all this talk about them having a "franchise QB". not sure about that. he is pretty good with the "dink and dunk" (old buddy ryan phrase). but intermediate and down field, not so much. he is relying too much on the Tight ends. i, for one will be sorry to see foles let go. Just a bad defending year.

It's a little of all of those things, but I think the OL and not having a good enough running game are bigger reasons. Jefferies can be a deep threat, as he can fight for control at the reception point, we haven't had a lot of long throws but Wentz hasn't been accurate enough on most, the play calling features too many behind-the-line screens and have generally not gone well. Not enough deep throws called, but in most cases it is just a wasted down because we don't have the tools for that -- across the board.

I'm not willing to write off Wentz. He's talented, he's can run and throw. I need to see him next season after he's had a full year+ to recover from ACL surgery, a full offseason to prep for the regular season, and hopefully a better O-Line.

NBC's Reuben Frank is very Eagles biased, so I take what he says w/ a grain of salt. But, the numbers are glaring.

What's missing from Carson Wentz's game

• A year ago, Wentz had 14 scrambles of 10 yards or more. This year he has two.

• A year ago, Wentz averaged 5.9 yards per carry (after eliminating kneel-downs). This year that figure is down more than a yard per run to 4.7 this year.

• A year ago, Wentz ran for 28 first downs. This year that figure is down to nine.

There are other factors involved in sacks — the offensive line has been banged up and certainly hasn’t played as well as last year — but Wentz this year has been sacked once every 11.4 drop-backs after once every 16 drop-backs last year.

Points are down (25.6 to 20.9), third-down is down (42 percent to 39 percent), red zone is down (TDs on 71 percent of red-zone drives last year, 55 percent this year).

Safe to say he’s not who he was last year. But equally safe to say that with another offseason of preparing and strengthening and rehabbing and recovering he will be again.

I sure hope he's right.

Pederson needs to internalize how weak his D is. I was yelling NO! at the TV as he called time out the first time toward end of half. It was time to use clock and get to locker room up 4, not try to get another possession. Got burned previously on this.

They also need to figure out how to run the ball in the red zone. Last season they had a lot of success with this. When they get first and goal at the five, they don't have a Blount or Ajayi to bust it through a small opening. They may need to look at different play types in the red zone. They haven't used the sixth lineman much there--that might help.

That may be true, but at 1st and goal, at least try to run the ball once. Adams was having a decent night running. Run it once? Maybe try?

Dallas has really improved. I don't think we can beat them. This is one of those instances where we aren't mathematically eliminated, but the season is over.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Cowboys have gotten into one of those grooves where everything has started to click and they just might be a darkhorse Super Bowl contender.

To be honest, looking over the schedule, I am doubtful that the Eagles win another game. Texans are the hottest team in the NFL at the moment, the Rams have the best record in the NFC and I don't think the Redskins will completely blow a gasket.

About the only thing I disagree with you on here is the Redskins. Their starting QB is Mark Sanchez. Their gasket is already blown.

No point in really worrying about it unless or until they beat the Cowboys. Wild card might be on the table but it's not gonna be worth much.

They'll beat the Redskins again. Texans and Rams were always going to be tough.

Sometimes it seems on any given day teams in the NFL can lose a game they're supposed to win and vice versa, but I just might be crazy.

The numbers people say it's hard for the Eagles to win the Wild Card because if they do well enough to do that they probably win the division instead.

Cowboys can still finish 10-6 after losing to Eagles, Eagles can still lose to Rams and win wild card at 9-7. I would think (w/o looking at the head-to-heads around the conference) an 8-8 wild card is also not out of the question.

What year was it when a bunch of improbable things had to happen for Eagles to sneak in on the last day of the regular season and they did?

I remember in 1988 a a couple of things needed to happen, They had to play the Cowboys on the last day of the season and even a win wouldn't get them in the playoffs without help. They needed the Saints to beat the Falcons to make the playoffs and if the Jets upset the Giants, they would win the division. Both ended up happening.

in 2008, just to make the playoffs the Eagles had to beat the Cowboys, and the Buccaneers and Bears had to lose, and that all happened, then they won two road games and lost to the Cardinals in the NFC Championship.

yes, when garcia hit desean with a long bomb TD pass late in the game, to take the lead. and then the defense couldn't stop warner on the last drive of the game. a quick change from euphoria to sadness. that would have been a remarkable cinderella season.

One thing I liked about Desean, and appreciate more seeing him play against us, is how well he adjusts to the ball while it's in the air on long passes. He's short, but he does well at the point of reception because of this, especially on underthrown passes and passes a little off-target side to side. He consistently reacts a lot faster than the defender. We don't have anyone with his speed or reaction skills although Jeffery has great leap/fight-for-the-ball skill.

Is DeSean Jackson a future HOFer? I see that some have been asking the question. Some have also asked if LeSean McCoy is one. The two guys Chip Kelly thought were fungible. In the end, we did fine without them under a different coach but still....
