[size=150] PHILLIES ANNOUNCE ADDITIONAL SPRING TRAINING NON-ROSTER INVITEES [/size]
The Phillies have signed the following five players to minor league contracts with invitations to attend major league spring training as non-roster invitees:
[ul]*]J.P. Arencibia, C – Arencibia, 29, spent the 2015 season in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. In 99 games with triple-A Durham, Arencibia batted .227 with 17 doubles, 22 home runs and 65 RBI. Having received a late-season call-up to Tampa Bay, Arencibia posted a .921 OPS with six home runs and 17 RBI in only 24 games with the Rays. Originally selected 21st overall in the 2007 draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, Arencibia ranked fourth among all major league catchers with 62 home runs from 2011-13.

*]Greg Burke, RHP – A native of Marlton, NJ, Burke spent last season in the Toronto Blue Jays organization and split time between double-A New Hampshire and triple-A Buffalo. In 48 combined games between the two levels, the 33-year-old Burke went 5-1 with a 2.63 ERA (18 ER, 61.2 IP). He posted a 3.67 strikeout-to-walk ratio (66 SO, 18 BB) while averaging 9.63 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched. Burke was originally signed by the San Diego Padres as an undrafted free agent in 2006 out of Duke University.

*]Ernesto Frieri, RHP – A veteran of seven major league seasons, Frieri, 30, pitched for Tampa Bay last season. He split time between triple-A Durham and the Rays, going 1-1 with a 4.40 ERA (15 ER, 30.2 IP) in 28 games between the two clubs. Since making his ML debut in 2009, Frieri has averaged 11.60 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched (382 SO, 296.1 IP), which ranks seventh among all ML pitchers in that span with at least 250.0 innings pitched. A native of Bolivar, Columbia, Frieri has successfully converted 73 of his 84 major league save opportunities (87%).

*]Gregory Infante, RHP – Infante, 28, spent a majority of last season with Buffalo, the triple-A affiliate of the Blue Jays. Additionally, he made six appearances for double-A New Hampshire. In total, Infante appeared in 51 games and went 1-3 with a 3.18 ERA (20 ER, 56.2 IP) between the two clubs. Selected to play for the World team in the 2011 Futures Game, Infante has made five major league appearances, all coming in 2010 with the Chicago White Sox (0 R, 4.2 IP).

]Angelys Nina, INF – Nina, 27, batted .300 with 21 doubles, five triples, four home runs and 18 stolen bases in 114 games last season for triple-A Albuquerque in the Colorado Rockies organization. Defensively, he appeared at second base, shortstop, third base and left field. Nina is a career .285 hitter over nine professional seasons which spans 803 minor league games./:m][/ul]
