He played or sang on quite a variety of well known songs, including Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo, Hang on Sloopy, Steely Dan's Show Biz Kids, Edgar Winter's Free Ride, Total Eclipse of the Heart, Air Supply's Making Love Out of Nothing at All, and Weird Al's Eat It. RIP.

I was a big Derringer fan in my teens. RIP to the All American Boy. My first concert was The Edgar Winter Group at The Spectrum. But some surprise opening band named Bad Company stole the show.

Jim Marshall, member of the Purple People Eaters passes at 87, hopefully he went the right way.

I guess I must be too baseball oriented as when I saw ā€œJim Marshall,ā€ I assumed it was the former Cubs manager, who is still alive at age 94. The football Jim Marshall is more famous. I believe the other three Purple People Eaters are still with us. RIP.
